Big News!

The Bends have been nominated!

The Bends are happy to announce that they’ve been nominated for the Emerging Artist Award for the City of St. Catharines Arts Awards.

 

2nd Toronto show = 2nd HUGE SUCCESS!

On Saturday, May 4th, The Bends hopped on a bus with their fans
and traveled to Toronto to perform at The Opera House.

Their performance earned them 2nd Prize
in the Landmark Showcase Competition 2013 Finals!

The Bends would like to congratulate their friends HIGHS
for taking home 1st place and look forward to sharing the stage
with them at Club Soda in Montreal!!!!!

The Bends would also like to thank Ms. Newman for organizing
The Bends Fan Bus and thank each and every one of you for your inspiring support!

 

In The Soil Arts Festival

Thank you to everyone who came out to The Merchant Ale House to hear Kurt perform a folky, acoustic set.

Kurt would like to thank Duncan, Joe, Luke and Mason for accompanying him and offer special thanks to Christine Bougie for accompanying him with the amazing sounds of her lap steel guitar!

 

The Bends open for USS

First Toronto show = HUGE SUCCESS

The Bends first show in Toronto, which just so happened to be their 50th show, was a huge success! The Bends earned 2nd Prize in the Landmark Showcase Competition at The Mod Club.

“Fantastic Stage, Lights, Sound, and above all FANS. You guys make us feel like we’re famous. Thanks especially to those who came out from St. Catharines! WE LOVE YOU!”

The Bends will move on to the finals at The Opera House in early 2013!

 

The Bends support the My Future Niagara Summit

The Bends were thrilled to support NEXTNiagara by performing at the
My Future Niagara Summit. After their performance, the boys couldn’t wait to talk music with CBC’s Jian Ghomeshi!

 

The Bends would like to thank Ron Sexsmith for taking time, prior to his performance at the Centre for the Arts at Brock University, to meet with Kurt, talk music and sign some CDs. And for playing, “Michael and His Dad” during the encore. “Thank you, Ron!”

S.C.E.N.E. People’s Choice

At a press conference held at Hernder Estate Wineries, Niagara Wine Festival officials announced that The Bends were the winners of the S.C.E.N.E. Music Festival People’s Choice award.
The award allowed The Bends to perform on the WestJet Centre Stage in Montebello Park, in front
of thousands of wine lovers at the 2011 Niagara Wine Festival!
